Lorne Clark named REALTOR of the year 2001
A twenty-four year veteran of the real estate industry was named the REALTOR of the Year by the Edmonton Real Estate Board recently for his outstanding contributions to the industry and the community. Lorne Clark, an Associate Broker with Re/Max Advantage in
Sherwood Park, received the award amid a standing ovation by his peers at the annual Realtor's Ball held February 23.
In his presentation to Mr. Clark, EREB Past President, Barry Hanna, noted the Board takes pride in having such a high caliber professional represent REALTORS in the community. "It is a privilege for the Edmonton Real Estate Board to acknowledge this Realtor's dedication to the industry, his contributions in the community, his leadership, and his professional representation of the real estate industry."
Mr. Clark committed nine years to serving numerous EREB committees, on the Board of Directors, and as President in 1991. His committee involvement was diverse; including helping spearhead EREB involvement in the first Habitat for Humanity home in
Edmonton.
He was a Member of the Advisory Board of the Alberta Real Estate Insurance Exchange (AREIX) for four years; then went on to Chair the AREIX Claims Committee, the AREIX Advisory Board, and their Strategic Planning Committee over the next three years.
Mr. Clark focuses his leadership with fellow REALTORS and his own business on high standards of business practice and ethics. For his many contributions to the industry, he was awarded Life Membership in the EREB in 1999. He was appointed in November of 2000 to serve on the Real Estate Council of Alberta as a representative for residential real estate brokers in
Alberta.
REALTOR of the Year is the most prestigious award presented to a member of the Edmonton Real Estate Board. Not a sales award, it recognizes an individual's outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and the community. Consideration is given to the degree of participation, professionalism and leadership shown in all areas.
